The York Region Chamber of Commerce began offering the shredding service as a member benefit a few years ago. It became so popular that we now offer the shredding service to the entire community.
Where is the shredding located: York Region Chamber of Commerce, 1 Stonewall Lane, York.
When is the shredding available: Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Due to COVID-19, the shredding service is temporarily not available. Please check back soon.
How is the material destroyed: Secure RMS provides locked 64 gallon bins that you place your documents in through a slot in the top of the bin. When the bins are full we call Secure RMS and they come pick them up. All document destruction is done at their facility located in Sanford, ME.
What do I do to prepare: First call the chamber of commerce to be sure the bins are empty and available, 207-363-4422. Remove paper clips and bindings from your documents prior to arriving at the chamber of commerce. We allow the full use of one 64 gallon bin per visit. You place your documents into the locked bins through a slot at the top of the bin.
Cost: Non-chamber members - $10 for up to 1/2 bin, $20 for anything over 1/2 of one bin.
